ABOUT US
Emirates Park has been at the forefront of thoroughbred racing and breeding in Australia for three decades. Rarely has a season passed in that period of time when a horse carrying the stud's distinguished ‘EP’ brand has not been seen winning a feature event of one form or another on the domestic racing calendar.
It all started when Emirates Park's principal, His Excellency Nasser Lootah, was first introduced to the local thoroughbred industry in the late-1980s and soon after made the initial purchase of a long established property in the Upper Hunter Valley. What has since transpired is a steady stream of major race winners being bred, reared and/or raised on the stud — either to race in the livery of Emirates Park, or for a long list of lucky owners who have had the good fortune to acquire a product of the establishment's renowned breeding program.
Our heralded list of Group 1 winners — including Secret Savings (USA), Shamekha, Al Maher, Theseo, County Tyrone, Dash For Cash, Fat Al, Swiss Ace, Mossfun, Estijaab etc — not only illustrate the vast achievements of the Emirates Park operation, but also represent the legacy of the stud's principal for generations to come.
While Emirates Park's past has been forged through the long-term vision and sustained commitment of His Excellency Nasser Lootah, its future very much lies in the hands of his son Hussain. More recent years have seen Hussain take an active interest in the successful running of the stud, as well as in the informed management of its extensive bloodstock portfolio. He is now a passionate follower of world thoroughbred affairs, and especially those that directly relate to Emirates Park, its stallions and livestock.
