Daughter of Estijaab wins on debut
A daughter of Emirates Park’s 2018 Golden Slipper winner Estijaab has made a very favourable impression at her first career start in the United Kingdom by winning on debut at Kempton Park in England.
Trained by Roger Varian at Newmarket and ridden to victory by regular stable jockey David Egan, Ejaabiyah established a commanding advantage over her opposition in the closing stages of an EBF Fillies’ Novice over 8-furlongs, bursting clear before crossing the finishing line some six lengths in advance of her nearest rival.
Speaking after the win, Egan remarked in part: “It was a taking performance and I really enjoyed that. With the slow pace … I got her rolling early, she had a terrific turn of foot and I loved the way she galloped out after the line. ”
Egan added: “She’s a beautiful looking filly by Frankel out of a Golden Slipper winner, so she’s regally bred and quite smart too. She’d have won over any trip today. Hopefully, she’ll tune up over the winter and be a nice filly next year.”
The first foal of Estijaab, Ejaabiyah is a 2-year-old daughter of Juddmonte’s celebrated sire Frankel as Egan stated in his post-race comments. Looking ahead, the rising 3-year-old holds an entry for the 2024 Curragh Juddmonte Irish Oaks (Group 1) in late July.
Bought and raced by Emirates Park, Estijaab was the Champion 2YO in Australia of season 2017-18 before beginning her breeding career in the northern hemisphere. Her first three seasons overseas saw her covered by Frankel, Night of Thunder and Gun Runner.
Estijaab was relocated Murrurrundi in more recent months and has been covered by Emirates Park co-owned stallion Tassort this domestic breeding season.
