Navy Cross lands $1 million MM Subzero

Emirates Park-bred Navy Cross enjoyed a major payday when scoring an all-the-way victory in the $1m Gold Coast Magic Millions Subzero (2400m) on Queensland’s most valuable race programme of the year.

A 5-year-old son of I Am Invincible produced by the superbly-bred Danehill (USA) mare Watchful, Navy Cross landed first prize of $584,284 with a typical display of front-running by a member of the Gai Waterhouse-Adrian Bott stable ridden by Sydney-based jockey Tim Clark.

The sixth win of Navy Cross’ career took his earnings to $802,059 from 27 starts. His success in the valuable Magic Millions event made the gelding the most expensive yearling sale purchase ever to have subsequently saluted on the auction house’s signature race day staged in unison with the annual Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
