Emirates Park colt tops Day 3 of MMGC2021
The Emirates Park sales team topped Day 3 of the 2021 Gold Coast Magic Millions Yearling Sale when Lot 612 sold for $1.8 million to the bid of Tony Fung Investments and Phoenix Thoroughbreds.
A magnificent son of Not a Single Doubt, the colt is the first foal of Emirates Park-raced One More Honey, winner of the prestigious Group Two Sweet Embrace Stakes during her juvenile racing season.
Emirates Park’s general manager Bryan Carlson remarked after the seven-figure sale: “He’s a lovely colt. Even back at the farm [in early inspections] he was very popular.”
Carlson added: “I thought he could make over a million, but I didn’t expect him to make that much. He has been very popular — out of his box nearly the whole time since he’s been here. It’s a fantastic result.”
Carlson concluded by declaring. “He does tick every box.”
In addition to winning the Sweet Embrace Stakes, One More Honey also finished fourth in the Group 1 Flight Stakes as a 3-year-old.
Furthermore, the $1.8m colt's dam is a half-sister to Vega One, brilliant winner of the GCTC Magic Millions Cup in 2020.
