Frankel filly scores UK win in Emirates Park livery

APRIL 20, 2019.

The familiar red, blue and white racing colours of Emirates Park were recently sported to victory in the United Kingdom when Mehdaayih won a 3YO Fillies Handicap over 10 furlongs at Chelmsford.

A daughter of Frankel [pictured] trained by John Gosden, Mehdaayih was having the first outing of her 3-year-old season after a very promising juvenile campaign which also saw her prove successful in a 2YO Fillies Novice Stakes over a mile at Yarmouth in late October.

Now the winner of two of her four starts to date, Mehdaayih took her latest assignment by 14 lengths and is now being considered for some very significant events on the 3YO Fillies Pattern Race schedule, one such event being the Group 3 Cheshire Oaks run at Chester racecourse in the second week of May.

Mehdaayih is directly descended from Sayyedati, one of the great racemares of recent time. The daughter of Shadeed won, amongst other majors, the Cheveley Park Stakes (Gr.1) at two,  the Newmarket 1000 Guineas (Gr.1) and Jacques Le Marios (Gr.1) at three, and the Goodwood Sussex Stakes (Gr.1) as a 5-year-old.
